Hi there, I’m a 20 something year old student from Maryland whose goal is not only to retire early but to retire rich enough to where money is no longer a burden. When I first started out with this blog, it was nothing more than an experiment with a friend and now it’s one of my main hobbies.
What Inspired me to start this blog
Last summer of 2006, I had made one huge mistake which cost me about 10,000 dollars worth of credit card debt and I was miserable. All I could think about was, how am I going to pay this off and how long is it going to take. I was continuously thinking about my financial situation and always reading/analyzing finance articles to help me with my debt. I knew that I needed to keep my mind focused on finance and keep up the motivation to pay off this debt. The problem was, it’s not easy to always be thinking about money and finance. So then thats when my friend mentioned to me about how he just started blogging and that I should also give it a try. I said why not and started not too long after. I realized after blogging for about a month that this is exactly what I need. It helped me to focus on my finances because I was consistently writing about them and thinking about them. It was great, about 7 months after I had started blogging my credit card was completely paid off.
About this site
Money Walks is a personal finance blog where I talk about various things dealing with money with a twist of my own personal experience. I am by no means an expert on finance and I do not claim to be. Through this site, I share my daily experiences and struggles and together I hope we can learn to avoid some of the common mistakes that can easily be made.
I want to thank you for stopping by and taking the time to learn a little more about me. If you want to be updated on whats going on here at Money Walks, make sure to subscribe to my feed.
