Fabulously Broke,

Wow, scanning every one of your receipt sounds like a lot of work but I commend you on your patience and effort. I know the importance of keeping track of our spending is vital to budgeting, I just prefer to use my debt card so that I can see electronically what I spend my money on. This way I can easily keep track of everything and input into my excel spreadsheet.

I have to keep track of ALL of my receipts for when I'm travelling, so what I've resorted to doing is filing receipts by day or by purpose (depending on how long I'm there), ensuring I enter everything into Excel when the day is done and tallying it up at the end of the week, and most importantly.... SCANNING.

I try and create folders on my computer, scan in my receipts, sort each receipt by day, and make sure I have a copy just in case I need to print/show proof.

I used to hardcopy, but my filing cabinet is about to burst, so I'm saving up for a Docupen (portable scanning wand) so I can scan on the go.
